ABOUT

He is popularly known by his stage name Ken as a member of SB19 and by his mononym Felip as a solo artist. He is not just an artist but a CEO of his own clothing brand called Superior Son. He was born on January 12, 1997 in Zamboanga Del Sur and was raised in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. Music has always been a part of his life; he grew up singing and playing instruments in a small church run by his grandfather in his hometown in Mindanao. He had a deep voice and can play a guitar and piano. On the other hand, he only became aware of his dancing skills by chance when he had to dance for a school project. He originally wanted to be an architect but he sacrificed his education to take the opportunity to audition in a boy group. He had no money at that time but one of his co-member Josh is the one who spend for his plane ticket to travel to Manila. Luckily, he is accepted for audition and became one of the members of SB19, a main dancer and lead vocalist.

TIMELINE

2018

On May 16, 2018, he was introduced as the third member of ShowBT Entertainment’s new boy group SB19.

On October 26, 2018, SB19 officially debuted with their song “Tilaluha”.

2021

On September 18, 2021, he made his first solo debut “Palayo” under the stage name Felip.

On November 26, 2021, he launched his streetwear brand, Superior Son.

He awarded as “Best Male Celebrity Dancer” of PH Choice Awards and as “Fashion Influencer of the Year” of Village Pipol Choice Awards 2021.

2022

On May 28, 2022, he released his new single “Bulan”.

On July 6, 2022, he is the first artist to represent the Philippines in the Recording Academy's (GRAMMYs) Global Spin, a digital series highlighting performances from renowned artists or groups to honor both the creators and their home countries.

He was the first Filipino and Southeast Asian act to be nominated at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) and awarded again as the “Fashion Influencer of the Year” of Village Pipol Choice Awards 2022.
